A young Connecticut Sun team upended the WNBA on Wednesday, defeating the Seattle Storm 93-83 to earn just their third win of the 2025 WNBA season.
Tina Charles led the charge with 29 points, as the Sun snapped a 10-game losing streak.
“It was great to see a collective team effort,” Charles said after the game. “It wasn’t just me. Everyone involved got this win for us.”
Big picture: Wednesday’s other results showcased the league’s parity, as the No. 2 Mercury took down the No. 1 Lynx behind a career-high 29-point performance from forward Alyssa Thomas.
Despite the return of Caitlin Clark, the No. 7 Fever couldn’t hold off the No. 6 Valkyries, as the league’s newest expansion side won 80-61.
No. 10 Sky also got the best of the No. 11 Wings on a day Chicago retired the No. 14 jersey of WNBA champion Allie Quigley.
Aces and Mystics look for separation

Three WNBA teams are hovering around eighth place in the standings with a record of 9-10, and two of those squads will compete tonight for a little bit of separation.
No. 8 Washington and No. 9 Las Vegas both sit just below the .500 mark, with very different trajectories as the 2025 WNBA season nears the halfway point.
Big picture: Two years removed from their last championship, the Aces have struggled to create a foothold in the 2025 standings, with the possible absence of A’ja Wilson due to a wrist injury looming over tonight’s matchup.
Washington instead appears to be ahead of schedule, with a pair of All-Star rookies exceeding expectations as the Mystics continue a controlled rebuild.
What to watch: In tonight’s other game, No. 1 Minnesota continues their grueling regular season schedule on the west coast.
No. 1 Lynx vs. No. 13 Sparks, 3 PM ET (League Pass): There’s no rest for the league leaders after a disappointing loss on Wednesday, as they travel to Los Angeles on a back-to-back to take on the Sparks.
No. 9 Aces vs. No. 8 Mystics, 7:30 PM ET (Prime): With playoff spots on the line, Las Vegas will want to prove their quality against a Washington team taking everything one game at a time.
Euros frontrunners advance

There are still a few berths left to be decided, but a number of Euro frontrunners have already punched their ticket to the knockout rounds with a group stage game in hand.
After Norway became the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals on Sunday, Spain followed suit in Group B with a dominant win, while Germany and Sweden wrapped up Group C on the second matchday of group play.
Still alive: Runner-up spots in Group A and B will be decided this week, and there’s still all to play for in the hyper-competitive Group D after England possibly saved their 2025 Euro campaign with a 4-0 thumping of The Netherlands on Wednesday.
France, England, and The Netherlands go into Group D’s third matchday on Sunday tied on three points apiece, though the Dutch have possibly the hardest path forward, needing a significant result against Les Bleues to keep their Euro dream alive.
"We bounced back from the previous game and showed we were more than capable [of] showing the world what we can do,” England goalscorer Lauren James told the BBC.
England will face close rival Wales to close out the group stage, after Seattle Reign midfielder Jess Fishlock scored the first major tournament goal in Wales women’s football history on Wednesday against France.
Bottom line: The Euro group stage has presented mostly straightforward results in the early stages, but there is still room for a few more twists before the knockouts.

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese announced her first signature shoe in style on Wednesday, debuting the design of the Angel Reese 1’s as one of the cover stars of NBA 2K26.
The Reebok shoe is still anticipated to be released to the public in 2026, but Reese rocked the "Diamond Dust" colorway during Chicago’s win over Dallas on Wednesday evening.
Big picture: Reese is the sixth WNBA player to grace the cover of 2K, and the second Sky player after league legend Candace Parker.
“Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone—it’s a statement,” Reese said in a release. “It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.”
Euros viewership breaks records

Even before the group stage has ended, the 2025 European Championship has already broken records in the stands and in TV viewership.
The crowds in Switzerland have already broken the record for attendance during a women’s Euros group stage, passing the 287,438th fan mark on Wednesday — with three more days of games to go.
The tournament has also made strides in US viewership, with FOX recording the most-watched Euro group stage match in US English-language history on Saturday, as 690,000 viewers watched France take down England, 2-1.

The LPGA’s fourth major championship of the season tees off today, as golfers compete for the Evian Championship’s $8 million overall purse in Évian-les-Bains, France. It’s the only event on the LPGA schedule played in mainland Europe.
25-year-old Japanese golfer Ayaka Furue enters the tournament as reigning champion, joined by 2023 winner Celine Boutier and 2022 champion Brooke Henderson.
46 of the top 50 in the Women’s World Rankings are also set to compete, including world No. 1 Nelly Korda, who could become the first American since 2018 to hoist the trophy by notching her first win of the 2025 season.
